Jeff Scanlan

Jeff serves as a Senior Vice President at FNIC, bringing a strong background in underwriting, sales, and risk management. Before joining FNIC, he worked as a Regional Underwriting and Sales Manager with Berkshire Hathaway Homestate Companies, where he supported business owners across a variety of industries. Jeff began his insurance career shortly after graduating from Peru State College with a degree in Business Administration, starting with a national insurance carrier and quickly developing experience in identifying risk and protecting business operations.

Jeff enjoys helping business owners understand their exposures and find solutions that protect both their revenue stream and balance sheet. He values transparency and straightforward conversations, approaching each client relationship with attention to detail and a task‑oriented mindset. FNIC’s local ownership and strong moral integrity were key reasons he chose to join the organization, and he appreciates being part of a team that shares his commitment to doing what is best for clients.

Outside of work, Jeff enjoys spending time with his family, playing golf, and boating. He has officiated high school and college basketball for more than 35 years and remains active in his church and Catholic school community. He is also a Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus member and has served in several community leadership roles, including past positions with the Nebraska Property and Casualty Guarantee Fund, the Nebraska Insurance Federation, and the Plattsmouth Community Schools board.
