We’re currently looking for an Account Executive, who will maintain our high standards of service for clients and understand what their needs are before they know it themselves. Account Executives support the sales team in the sale and retention of designated commercial accounts as well as coordinating client activity with sales and support teams.
What’s the work like?
You will:
- Assist in the marketing of commercial business as needed, including but not limited to preparing applications, negotiating pricing, terms and conditions with underwriters, reviewing final proposals, coordinating delivery with Producer, and provide binding instructions to Marketing Specialist or Account Manager
- Assist in the service of commercial accounts including reviewing and analyzing client-related contracts, reviewing policy and coordinating policy delivery, and preparing checklists
- Attend client-related or company-related meetings, functions or events as needed including renewal updates, claim reviews, stewardship meetings, loss control services, and sales meetings
- Coordinate clients’ account renewals with the Account Manager when account is not marketed
- Assist producer in coverage and program design based on client exposures and knowledge of carrier programs
- Establish and maintain relationship with clients, internal partners and underwriters
- Seek referrals from clients and pursue account rounding opportunities
- Assist in the resolution of audit disputes as needed
- Assist in the resolution of coverage issues during the claims process as needed
- Provide direction to Account Manager on policy changes as needed
- Maintain electronic files in an orderly, up-to-date manner according to established filing procedures.
- Ensure confidentiality is maintained in the collection, maintenance and dissemination of highly sensitive information (PHI)
- Maintain, develop and pursue technical knowledge and remain current with industry trends
- Meet established account development and retention objectives
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance
- Follow all agency procedures complying with carrier standards and Company E&O guidelines
- Develop technical insurance knowledge of agency employees through formal and informal education and training
- Incorporate the capabilities of the agency management system into daily workflow following agency procedures
- Any other special projects and duties as assigned
What do I need to know?
You have to have…
- Valid Driver’s License
- Resident Property and Casualty Agent’s license and commitment to obtain consultant’s license
- CIC or CPCU designations received or near completion; additional designations recommended (ARM, CRIS, AU)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- In-depth knowledge of commercial insurance underwriting, coverage, and marketing
- Proficiency in all agency automation software
- Respect for and compliance with department procedures
- Ability to interpret abstract information using critical thinking skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly
- Ability to conform with and abide by all workplace policies, work procedures, and instructions
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with Company employees and external contacts
- Eight (8) or more years of Property/Casualty insurance experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field preferred
