What’s the work like?
You will:
- ensure completion and accuracy of the general ledger and all subsidiary ledgers
- coordinate and analyze all financial statements and year end activities with external auditors
- coordinate the year end audit of the 401K plan
- manage the purchase of fixed assets to determine cost effectiveness
- ensure the accuracy of all accounting data maintained in agency management system
- prepare and transmit payroll and required financial reports
- reconcile accounts where required
- provide strategic input and leadership by developing recommendations on financial policies, procedures, and equipment to improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization
- evaluate and advise on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action
- participate in the development of the organization's plans and programs as a strategic partner
- maintain, develop, and pursue technical knowledge through newsletters, bulletins, seminars, trade publications or other educational opportunities
- responsible for the identification of departmental staffing needs
- participate in company and inter-departmental business activities
- provide work direction, training/development, and manage the performance of all direct reports
- administer timely and effective performance evaluations, including salary administration
- set department objectives and establish priorities for direct reports
- ensure confidentiality is maintained in the collection, maintenance, and dissemination of highly sensitive information, including Protected Health Information (PHI)
What do I need to know?
You have to have…
- valid driver’s license
- college degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance or related field
- 5-7 years of accounting experience
- at least 3 years of management/supervisory experience
- excellent verbal and written communication skills
- strong sales and positive negotiation skills
- proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel) and electronic mail system (Outlook)
- regular and consistent attendance
- ability to observe safety and security procedures and use equipment and materials properly
- ability to conform with and abide by all workplace policies, work procedures, and instructions
- ability to establish and maintain positive and effective working relationships with employees at all levels within the organization, as well as clients, prospects, and vendors
